ATTEND OUR NEXT PLANNING SESSION
We’ve painted the Healthy Mile Trail. We've established a Ridgefield GirlTrek Walking Team. Now what? Let’s further the goal of making our community healthier by modifying our eating habits. In addition to being active, eating well-balanced meals is crucial. To that end, we are starting Week 2 of our 'ChooseMyPlate' social media event using the USDA MyPlate icon.
During the month of November, we will hold weekly raffles and award prizes. To win, just take a picture of your healthy plate and post it to our social media sites using #healthecommunity. Your plate should look like the ChooseMyPlate.gov icon. It should have a mix of fruits, vegetables, grains, proteins, and dairy items. Do follow your dietitian's advice. Weekly prizes will include physical and electronic gift cards in various denominations. A grand prize will be awarded at the end of the month.
The planning committee is meeting in Study Room #2 of the East Regional Library on Saturday 11/12 @ 3:00 PM . You must register and be a Ridgefield resident to win and to attend our planning sessions.
Congratulations to Corey Waters, the Week 2 winner. His was the only #HealTheCommunity social media post for Week 2, he posted to Twitter. Corey has won both $25 Amazon gift cards.
Week 3 is in progress. Get those plates and those cameras ready and start posting.
